Elisabeth Coyne

Dr Elisabeth Coyne is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Griffith University Brisbane, Australia. Elisabeth’s research incorporates patient and family experience of chronic disease, and blended learning teaching methods within nursing. Elisabeth’s research has led to innovative methods for developing nurse and consumer partnership using simulation videos. Elisabeth’s teaching expertise in acute care nursing has a focus on patient and family assessment incorporating the Australian Safety and Quality Framework for Health Care, which focuses on consumer partnership for optimum patient outcomes.  Elisabeth is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.  Elisabeth is keen to provide students with knowledge informed by evidence based practice that clearly links the theory to the clinical practice. Her teaching philosophy is focused on providing authentic learning experiences to enhance students’ critical thinking and support lifelong learning. Elisabeth seeks to understand the student perspective of university, working closely with students to provide them with current information to prepare them for the diverse and complex clinical setting.
